Floating with the wind: bloom where God plants you

“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” — John 3:8

Life in the Wind

Think about a dandelion. When the wind blows, its tiny seeds float through the air. At first, it looks like they’re just drifting with no direction. But really, each seed is being carried to the exact spot where it can take root and grow.

Sometimes life feels like that. We don’t always know where we’re headed. One season, it feels like we’re simply existing, just floating through time. But just like the seed, we are being carried — and God knows exactly where He’s planting us.

Letting Go and Trusting God

The seed can’t stay attached to the flower forever. It has to let go to become what it was created to be. In the same way, God calls us to release what’s old — fears, habits, or even places of comfort — so we can embrace the new season He has for us.

Even when people around us don’t understand, we can trust that His Spirit is guiding us. Where He plants us, He will grow us.

A Prayer

Lord, help me to trust Your wind, even when I don’t understand where it’s taking me. Give me the courage to let go of the old and embrace the new life You have prepared. Plant me where I can bloom for Your glory. Amen.

Reflection Question

What “old thing” might God be asking you to let go of, so He can plant you in a new season?
